Providing eye examinations and prescription eyeglasses for children and people with disabilities in Gaza to improve vision, education, and daily independence.
Poor vision affects children's education, adults' ability to work, and the independence of older people and individuals with disabilities. In Gaza, access to eye care services, vision screening, and prescription eyeglasses has become increasingly limited due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis, damaged healthcare facilities, and the high cost of corrective eyewear.
Thousands of people continue to live with untreated vision problems that could be corrected through a simple eye examination and properly fitted medical glasses. Early diagnosis and access to vision care can significantly improve educational achievement, employment opportunities, and overall quality of life.
To address this need, Jusoor Al-Amal (Bridges of Hope) Association launched the Vision Care & Medical Eyeglasses Project. The project provides professional eye examinations, vision screening, prescription assessment, and medical eyeglasses for children, students, people with disabilities, older adults, and low-income families who cannot afford eye care services.
Each beneficiary receives an individual vision assessment to ensure the appropriate prescription and the most suitable corrective eyewear. The project aims to reduce preventable vision impairment, improve eye health, support education, enhance mobility, and promote greater independence.
By investing in vision care and eye health, this project helps people regain clear sight and participate more actively in education, employment, and community life.
You can support this project with any donation starting from just $1, helping provide eye examinations and prescription glasses for vulnerable people across Gaza.
